Antelope Beads

Antelope Beads offers premium genuine leather cord and flat real suede.  All products are sold by the yard and cut to order length.

Leather cords are cut from the center of the hide, offering fine quality and consistency.  Our leather cords are offered in three different finishes: natural, standard colored, and metallic. All dying processes are certified lead free.

• Natural Leather - Natural leather cords are created using an absorbed dye process.  The cord is dipped in dye, the cord absorbs the dye, and then the cord is heat sealed. Because the dye is absorbed rather than coated, the cord is softer and more flexible than regular cord. This process allows the natural color of the cord to come through. All Natural dye colors present a "flat" color versus a shiny color.

• Standard Colored and Metallic Leathers - Standard colored and metallic leather cords are manufactured using a three part process where the cord is coated in dye, heat sealed, re-dyed, heat sealed, then finish coated. The process produces consistent coloring, and a strong, yet soft and workable, cord.

Flat real suede cord is 1.0mm in thickness and is made from sueded top grain garment hides. Natural dyes are absorbed completely through the hide.  Real flat suede is extremely strong and will not break or pill.
